AN UZBEK COVERED GILT EWER, UZBEKISTAN/BUKHARA, LATE 19TH CENTURY Of bulbous shape, resting on a splayed foot, rising to a tapering faced neck and a circular mouth with a domed hinged lid, with a s-scroll handle, spout and a stylised dragon’s head, the mouth in the shape of a flower head, the exterior decorated with tear shaped figures against scrolling foliage and finely chiselled scrolls of palmettes, enhanced with small turquoise and coral beads.
