AN UNUSUAL BRASS-INLAID HONGMU MARBLE TOPPED TABLE19th century The separate top inset with a variegated pink marble panel, within an inset brass foliate scroll border, set on a T-fret frieze above finely carved floral and foliate scroll aprons descending to the upper legs, terminating in paw feet, each side with archaistic entwined scrollwork aprons. 85.5cm (33 5/8in) high x 99cm (39in) wide x 60cm (23 5/8in) deep (2). It is rare to find hongmu tables of this type with inset brass decorative borders. It is pleasing to note that the design of the brass workplements the scrolling floral and foliate carving to the aprons.
