An Art Nouveau silver purse, Sampson Mordan & Co, London 1907, of rectangular form, the hinged cover embossed with a sprouting floral branch, Rd. No 428858, black fabric lining, upon a belcher link chain with plain polished ring, 10.5cm x 7.2cm, weight 2.77oztCR; Some light denting to the corners and sides. Moderate scratching and wear throughout,mensurate with age and use. Some loss of definition to the embossed details. Some minor splitting to the case where the chain meets the case. Cover opens smoothly and closes with a snap, but does not sitpletely flush to the sides, leaving slight gaps. The black fabric lining is pulling away from the sides slightly, and a few pulls and snags. The chain is in good order, no major denting, misshaping, splitting or repair - general scratching and wear between contact points,mensurate with age and use.
