Description French Empire Napoleon III gilt mounted and dark green bronze desk set, eight (8) pieces, consisting of an ink well stamp box, blotter, paper knife, seal stamp, letter opener, writing pen and pencil. Items range in size from 4 1/2" L to 4 1/2" H x 3 3/8" sq. Provenance: this set belonged to Mexican General Benecio Lopez Padilla (the consignor is his granddaughter). Padilla served as the Governor of Coahuila, Mexico, from 1941-1945, after fighting for/with Francisco Madero and Pancho Villa in the Mexican Revolution, eventually becoming a general. After his term as Governor, he later was Mexico's Secretary of National Defense from 1958-1970.品相报告: Condition Report The set is in overall very good condition with slight use wear, ink well with minor loss to patina on the lid and finial.
