Biography: Louisiana-born artist David LeDoux was known for his abstract expressionist paintings, which he created in four series: the black period (1985-1990); the red period (1990-1995); the violet/purple period (1995-2000); and the blue period (2000-2004). LeDoux was a graduate of Louisiana College and Louisiana State University, and also did doctoral work at Ohio State University. Following his service as a Naval Aviator and World War II veteran, he came to Murfreesboro, Tennessee in 1956 to teach drawing and painting in the Art Department at MTSU.
