Oil on table. This table is the central piece of the predella that wouldplete the side pieces with two gro of three apostles found in the Museo del Prado (P2971 and P2972). Master of the Pacully Collection is how a master is known anonymous Flemish-style painter, follower of Hans Memling and author of a table with the Imposition of the chasuble on Saint Ildefonso that until 1903 was in the collection of the Parisian antique dealer Émile Pacully, after having belonged to the collection of the Infante Sebastián de Borbón. Belonging to the same altarpiece of the Imposition of the chasuble on San Ildefonso, with which they share an architectural background, two tables from the side streets are preserved, with San Isidoro and San Leandro, property of the Museum of Valladolid in which they entered as a result of the confiscation of Mendizábal, when the altarpiece could have been dismembered, and aplete apostolate grouped into three tables from the predella, the lateral ones preserved in the Prado Museum and the central one in the Madrid paticular collection. Due to the purely Spanish character of the subjects represented and their Valladolid origin, it was taken to be the work of a Castilian or Spanish-Flemish master active in Valladolid, with good knowledge of painting that was made in the workshops of Bruges, where he could have trained and, according to Chandler R. Post, with some influence from Fernando Gallego. However, lately the possibility has been raised that it is an imported work, probably being the altarpiecemissioned by Juan Alfonso de Logroño from an unknown Flemish workshop destined for the funerary chapel that in the monastery of San Benito el Real in Valladolid had its brother, the chancellor of the Catholic Monarchs, Alonso Sánchez de Logroño, who was said to be "very rich and well done". Themunity of Castilla y León is managing the declaration of BIC nature of this work, having throughout this process the character of non-exportable.Artist or Maker: PACULLY, MAESTRO DE LA COLECCIÓN (XV - XV)
