A molded and ribbed oval bowl that has colorful, pleasing paintings of scrolling peonies and a pretty turquoise color. The rose and pink designs are painted with thick enamels and the glaze is very soft. The raised foot is unglazed and the base is glazed. The word CHINA has been stamped in iron red on the base center. MEASUREMENTS 6 3/8” (16.1 cm) long x 5” (12.7 cm) wide x 2 ¼” (5.7 cm) height. Weighs 11.2 oz (310 g) CONDITION There are no cracks or breaks. There is a small glaze chip on the rim on one end. There is wear and staining to the interior that gives it a nice soft feeling. It definitely has age. There are kiln flaws such as black spots, pin hole reserves and enamel spots. A colorful professionally painted bowl with an interesting shape.
