Chinese gilt bronze sculpture depicting a seated Hotai Buddha, circa 17th or 18th centuries, together with a fitted hand-carved rosewood lotus form stand. 9.5" H x 8" W x 5.5" D overall. Provenance: Property from the Manhattan estate of Indrani Yogasundram who lived in many different countries with her husband, Yogaraj, during his decades-long career as a Sri Lankan diplomat. In addition to the heirloom jewelry she possessed, Indrani acquired jewelry, art, and ornaments while stationed in China (1960-63), Sri Lanka (1963-65), and Iraq (1965-1967).
