A MID-18TH CENTURY MEISSEN CHOCOLATE POT the cylindrical body with a double scroll spout, turned wood handle and flat cover with a metal scroll handle and escutcheon, enamelled and gilded with Kakiemon type decoration of chrysanthemums, butterflies and birds, unmarked but impressed '23'. 17cm high Small glaze chip to the inner rim of the cover, light surface wear, rubbing to gilding and some light scratching to the design. Wooden handle possibly replaced. The chocolate pot has surface dirt to cover, no visible cracks or repairs, the handle is secure, there is an impressed 23 to base but no other marks, overall in good condition
