This piece was tested in several areas in order to verify that it was indeed silver. The piece is silver however I can not determine the percentage. The interior is believed to have been subsequently plated. Many of the nuts have been replaced with non silver nuts and are now corroded. The centerpiece exhbits numerous repairs throughout. The centerpiece is covered in a yellow film that can be easily removed with silver polish and is not to be confused with brassing. The center piece is slightly off kilter and favors one side.
