此器銅質，質地精澄，工藝精湛，造型雄壯。馬作挺首站立之姿，雙耳豎立，雙目圓睜，眉骨高聳，翹鼻掛鈴，鼻孔圓而大張，似在喘息，大嘴厚唇；馬身豐腴，長頸粗壯，細鬃，佇立之姿，前肢緩擡，生動具象，長尾自然垂落。整鑄而成，銅馬身上整體附帶有馬鞍、馬轡等馬具，鏨飾花卉紋，刻畫精細。整器生動逼真，身體勻稱，比例協調，威武雄壯，系明代銅鑄精品，對了解明代的青銅鑄造技術和藝術造詣有較高價值，值得珍藏。
