China, Qianlong (1735-1796) mark and periodOf lobed form with twelve petals, the box and lid are superbly decorated on the outside with rosettes, a design also known as 'posy', in the famille rose colours , the inside is covered with a beautiful turquoise glaze; in the centre of the base it bears the four-character square mark in red of the Qianlong Emperor.Provenance: - purchased from Bonhams, Fine Chinese Art, 17 May 2012, London New Bond Street, lot. 150.Catalogue notes: This type of pattern was highly appreciated at the Imperial court in the 18th century and several examples can be found in important museums.
