Qianlong marks, 19th centuryOf square form, the identical pair painted on side walls with panels depicting scenes probably from the Ming dynasty novel Jin Ping Mei (The Golden Lotus), framed by foliate scrolls painted in underglaze blue, iron-red, and gilt, the rim of each heightened in gold, the center of the turquoise glazed base bearing the six-character mark in seal script (some surface soiling). 3 3/16in (8cm) high
