|A vase that was decorated in similar birds and flowers but in a slightly less vibrant palette also bearing a signature of Wang Yousu was offered in these rooms as lot 5132 in sale 24264 of 4 October 2017. It is interesting to compare how the more 'pastel' qianjiangcai hues on that vase dated to 1901 became brighter presumably as kiln control improved during the Republic era.
