砚台四方，色紫，呵气成晕，易发墨，是块佳砚。砚堂下凹，雕有卷轴，刻画细腻，精准写实。砚池平坦，细腻润滑。左侧刻有“伊东隆治阁下容遆纪念，叶蓬敬赠”，配红木暗刻山水纹砚盒，刻“自如星辰同顶布瑶席，癸巳五月于珠溪，黄易”。伊东隆治是日本早期政治家，而叶蓬是我国京剧界老生元老，黄易又是我国早期著名武侠小说作家，故此砚传承有序，殊为难得。
