题识∶壬戌年正月十五于北太平庄，雪石老兄命画狗，黄胄遵命写。||钤印∶梁、黄胄之印、蠡桥梁氏 |这件作品系黄胄应好友，著名画家白雪石所托而作，原来悬挂于白雪石先生的书房，后赠于友人。此作乍看之下颇有些“急就章”的感觉，又仿佛是一张写生作品，然大师究竟是大师，愈是游戏之作愈发显得神采奕奕；画面上一狗蜷身而卧，寥寥几笔便写出卧犬憨痴的睡态、蜷起的四肢、蓬松的尾毛，诚所谓“言不在多，达意则灵”，画亦如此也。
