笔筒呈四方体，通体施仿木纹釉。仿木纹釉始创于清雍正时期，乾隆时期仿木纹釉的烧制更为广泛。该时期的釉面比雍正时期有更富于变化。此笔筒仿木纹釉纹理清晰，釉面木纹逼真，为乾隆时期佳品之作。百花不露地纹饰又名“万花锦”、“万花堆”、“万花献瑞图”等，盛行于乾隆、嘉庆年间。以牡丹为主体纹饰，再以莲花、菊花等其他花卉为衬托。此天球瓶，形制周正，釉彩发色艳丽，绘画工艺精巧，彰显其花团锦簌，的美好寓意。
