此箱长方形，共用十面紫檀木板做成，盖面及底为大料独板。箱子榫接处以铜片钉细钉加固。箱子四面及盖面以百宝嵌工艺嵌花蝶纹及暗八仙纹饰。箱子两侧设铜提手，形状精致，正面设蝙蝠形铜拍手，寓意吉祥；铜拍手下方开有钥匙孔，故此为古人存放贵重物品之宝箱。箱子体积稍大，工艺材质均珍贵。
