款识：甲子新秋游西山退谷归写此 金城|钤印：金城之印（白） 墨缘阁（白） |金城（1878-1926），中国近现代画家。字巩北，一字拱北，原名绍城，号北楼、又号藕湖，祖籍浙江省吴兴县。生于北京，1926年9月6日卒于上海。金城是一位传统功力极为深厚的画家，擅长山水、花鸟，师法宋元，笔墨谨严，以工带写有《藕庐诗草》、《北楼论画》、《画学讲义》。
