The panel is woven in coloured and gilt threads with various flowers such a lotus and peony on scrolling foliage amongst pomegranate and finger citron. One selvage end remaining.
Mounted on blue cotton on foam board (136x37cm).
Catalogue notes: A chuba made from fabric with similar composition and colours is in collection of the Cleveland Museum of Art and has been published in John Vollmer, Silks for Thrones and Altars: Chinese Costumes and Textiles from the Liao Through the Qing Dynasty, Paris: 2003, no. 43.
Condition: Otherwise appears to be in overall good condition.
