Black lacquered hirobuta tray decorated with three painted fan shaped panels depicting the Four Nobles: red Japanese apricot blossom (k?bai);
chrysanthemums; bamboo and ran-orchids in gold and silver maki-e lacquer with some red and brown and sprinkled gold in original box signed by lacquer master Sh?s? (one fan also signed Sh?s?). The tray has a silvery metal rim.
