明代铸造仿古铜器盛行，工部曾命人参照宋人《考古图》、《博古图》诸书所记商周青铜器器形而仿照。拍品即为一例。 造型古雅简练，椭圆口，束颈，鼓腹垂收，高圈足，线条硬朗而不失流畅，盖扭、盖面及壶身皆以兽面纹为饰，凹凸有致，制作精致严谨。整器铜质细密，铸纹精细生动，层次分明，繁而不乱，时代特征十分突出。
