A large pink-ground painted enamel box and cover


19th centuryPainted with character panels surrounding a central shou roundel, on a vibrant pink enamel ground reserved with butterflies, bats and insects amongst a profusion of finger citron, peach sprays, lotus, peonies, chrysanthemums and further leafy flowering stems, the cover interior with a black and gilt medallion similarly decorated on a pink enamelled ground. 38cm (15in) diam.
