A FINE GILT-BRONZE FIGURE OF AMITAYUS, TIBET, late 15th ct., seated in vajrasana on a lotus base with his hands resting on his lap in dhyanamudra supporting the globular-pressed shaped kalasha issuing three peacock feathers and three ribbons falling down over its rim, wearing dhoti secured with a ribbon knotted at the back, its border engraved with chevrons, scarf floating around his shoulders, its streamers encircling his arms with its finials falling over his legs, lavishly decorated with jewellery including necklaces, armlets, bracelets and anklets, all inlaid with turquoise, red coral and lapis lazuli beads, his cold-gilded face displaying a serene expression with downcast eyes below arched eyebrows running into his nose-bridge, rectangular urna set with turquoise bead, red coloured smiling lips, elongated earlobes with circular ear rings cast with a flower-head, his blue coloured hair combed in a chignon topped with a lotus-bud and secured with a tiara ornamented with a pair of pattras and floating ribbons, with inventory number BT 9, sealed
