Line Vautrin (1913-1997); "Le Marchand de Ballons" Powder Box in gilt bronze with opalescent baked enamel balloons; with "LINE VAUTRIN" stamped on base; 1945-46. Good condition, light wear, no mirror. Diameter 3 3/8 inches (8.5 cm.). NOTE: an almost identical powder box also missing a mirror was sold by Christie's, Paris, 20 May 2015, Lot 417 for $30,000.US. Provenance: Estate of a Couture customer of Schiaparelli and purchased from the artist in Paris.
