|和阗玉质，青白色，器表经老提油，呈现黑色。瑞兽俯卧状，独角，大双眼，口微张，四足伏于身下，尾巴卷曲，神态灵动。提油为古代仿古玉制作手法之一。据传，北宋宣和政和年间，有人用甘肃深山中所产的一种虹光草，取其汁加入瑙砂少许，再把新玉器浸入其中，这样，汁液就渗入玉器纹理之中，呈现出古玉色泽，俗称老提油，明清一直沿用。
