(23 1/4 x 33 in.)Efim Efimovich Volkov (1844-1920) Volkov Efim Efimovich - landscape painter, was born in St. Petersburg in 1844, studied at the Drawing School painter Society for the Encouragement of Artists (1866) and the Academy of Fine Arts (1867-1870). Consisted of the Association of Traveling Art Exhibitions (1880-1918). In 1870 he received the title of Academy neklassnogo artist in favor of the exhibition of this year "Kind of in the vicinity of Petersburg." In 1878 he joined the Association of Traveling Art Exhibitions and since then has appeared annually at them with his paintings, using for them a reputation as one of the best painters of Russian, mainly northern nature. In 1895, the EE Wolf became a full member of the Academy of Fine Arts. His works are in collections of the State Tretyakov Gallery ("Marsh", "Early Snow", "Autumn"), the State Russian Museum, Irkutsk Regional Art Museum, Smolensk State Museum ("Misty Morning"), and many museums in Russia (Voronezh, Omsk, Khabarovsk, etc.). Quite often, an artist in his work ranged motif overgrown banks of small rivers and streams. For work is characteristic of free Volkov, dynamic stroke, texture and varied, however, the simplicity of fine motive. He died in St. Petersburg in 1920 .
