The larger ewer is decorated with birds amongst prunus below European-style flower scrolls, the handle decorated with clouds, and the base with an artemisia leaf mark in underglaze blue. The smaller ewer is decorated with a scholar to one side and an attendant to the other, the neck and shoulder also painted with European-style scrolls. Condition: The first: there is a section restuck to the rim (approx. 5.2 cm. wide), and an associated hairline to the body; there are various infilled chips, a small shallow chip to the tip of the mouth.
