Each screen is impressively decorated as a display cabinet, duobaoge, with each level containing a precious object such as censers, ruyi sceptres, bi discs, boxes, fruits, elephants and double gourds, all inlaid in cloisonné enamel, hardstones, and mother of pearl, all on a red lacquered ground. The openwork wood friezes are gilt lacquered and one of the sections is fitted with a faux cabinet. The stand is decorated with carved kui dragons and archaistic scrolls. Condition: There is expected crackling to the lacquer, and normal wear from use. There are some minor chips and repairs to the openwork. There are some fine age cracks to the wood.
