One figure is carved as Shoulao holding a gnarled staff which dangles a book in his left arm and his right arm holds flowers, and a boy attendant stands next to him holding an open book. The other figure is carved as Shoulao holding a gnarled staff dangling a scroll and a peach in the other hand, he is accompanied by an attendant also holding a peach. The matched couple, the gentleman is wearing a dragon robe an an official's hat, one hand is raised holding his beard and the other hand is holding a sword. The lady is carved with an elaborate hairdo and wearing a robe and shawl decorated with phoenix, she holds a ruyi sceptre in her left hand. Three with a wood stand, the other with a wire-inlaid wood stand. The Shoulao group: 22.7 cm. high without the wood stand. The Shoulao and boy: 16.5 cm. high without the base, 19.5 cm. with base The matched couple: 20.3 cm. high Please note: this lot contains ivory and is therefore subject to the relevant trade restrictions in correspondence with CITES regulations.
