A pearlware Election punchbowl c.1784, the exterior printed in underglaze blue with Chinese pagoda landscapes, the interior inscribed 'Success to Wm Pitt & God Save the KING', within a Fitzhugh border, some rim cracks, 27cm. The general election of 1784 saw William Pitt re-elected with the strong support of George III, despite his young age. He continued in office until 1801, returning to the role in 1804.
