A pair of wine glasses c.1770, one English, one Dutch, the round funnel bowls later engraved with a crowned C, around the feet inscribed 'Remember the Death' and with a small skull, with double series opaque twist stems, 15cm. (2) It is possible that these glasses were engraved to commemorate the passing of a family member, or that the death referred to is that of Christ and the act of remembrance one of communion.
