Northern Wei Dynasty The stele formed as an arched alcove raised on a rectangular plinth, the alcove enclosing a figure of the Buddha seated on a fabric-draped lotus throne, flanked by his two principal disciples, the alcove surmounted by another Buddha and dragons, inscriptions on the sides. 31cm (12 1/8in) high (2).
