Northern Qi Dynasty, dated to the first year of Wuping, corresponding to AD 570 and of the periodThe bodhisattva cast standing in front of a lotus petal-shaped mandorla bordered with flames, with hands in abhaya and varada mudras, wearing layered robes that fall in graceful folds on either side of the bare feet atop a pedestal, with partial remains of an inscription on the back and sides, Japanese box. 13.6cm (5 3/8in) high.
