Taisho (1912-1868) or Showa (1926-1989) era, early 1900sDressed in full armour, wearing an eboshi (cap) and standing on one leg, running in pursuit with both hands raised above his head clutching a weapon (missing), affixed to an integral rectangular wood stand, carved and pierced around the sides with stylised flowers among karakusa ('Chinese grasses'); unsigned. 30.5cm (12in) high including stand.
