Provenance:Property from a Midwest American collection.Note:Persimmon glazed wares were produced at several kilns in North China, mostly from the Ding and Yaozhou kilns. The Ding variant of the persimmon glaze acquires the colour involving an initial application of bluish-black glaze, followed by another very thin coating of iron oxide. Ding ware with its white body, exudes more metallic sheen and a darker red.For an example of a persimmon glazed Ding bowl, see Christie's sale in their Hong Kong rooms on 2nd December 2015, lot 2819.
