|百達翡麗,「Nautilus - Jumbo」3700/3型號,精緻罕有大版黃金鑲鑽石自動鏈帶腕錶,配日期顯示,1979年。附後補資料庫精萃。The Patek Philippe "Nautilus", originally designed by Gerald Genta in 1976, is thought to owe its unique shape and construction to the transatlantic liners' porthole designs; inspired by the secure windows at sea that were sealed hermetically by a clever system of tension bolts against the glass. Gerald Genta's remit was to create a luxurious, sports watch for Patek Philippe, at the time known for its classic-styling - and thus, the "Nautilus" was born, transforming the landscape of elegant, sports watches forever. The present example, the Reference 3700/3 is a very rare diamond-set version of the 18k gold "Jumbo" Nautilus model, noted for its 42mm case width and flat bezel. The Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives confirms the original manufacture of this present wristwatch with 112 diamonds, weighing approximately 1.52 carats. The present watch is fitted with the slim, automatic winding Calibre 28-255 C. The integrated yellow gold bracelet has twelve fixed diamond-set links and 8 removable links. The inner clasp is further stamped with the Gay Frères maker's mark and engraved "Nautilus". The case retains its well-defined gold hallmarks and epitomises the exact wearable and sophisticated, era-defining sports watch that Gerald Genta first set out to create in the 1970s.
