水盂呈圈足，鼓腹，口内敛。以段泥制成，身腹装饰回纹图形，排列整齐有序，精致美观。水盂整体采用段泥制成，而回纹部分以黑泥粉浆上色，两种泥的收缩比和烧制时对温度的要求皆不一样，制作难度大，是一件工艺极精的作品。与通常所见此类作品有所不同，本器配有紫砂底座，远观之色泽，包浆犹如红木一般，殊为少见。器底钤“申锡”长方印。
