Impressive Suite of Garnet Cabochons


Idar-Oberstein, Germany This delectable suite of almandine garnets was created by a master lapidary in Germany from high-graded rough and would have taken years to form. The color of fine claret wine or cranberry glass they are exceptionally fine stones of high clarity. Each has been precision cut to match and bears a novel design of having been painstakingly hollowed out from the back to allow light to shine through. Consisting of ten ovals and one pear-shape with the following weights: pear shape, 21.11 ct; ovals, 22.66 ct, 20.16 ct, 20.13 ct, 21.00, 18.56 ct, 19.52 ct, 21.45 ct, 21.54 ct, 21.31 ct, 21.35 ct. Total aggregate weight: 228.5 carats. (11)
