Carved Ruby and Damascened Steel Knife in Smoky Quartz and Ruby Base--"The Sword in the Stone"


By Luis Alberto Quispe AparicioFeaturing a Damascus-steel bladed knife with Ruby handle carved following the natural hexagonal crystal pattern. The base is a smoky quartz from Arkansas which has been designed so that the knife could be exhibited in two positions: one inside the quartz cluster and positioned vertically within the leather-lined interior, keeping the metal part of the knife inside and covered; the second, horizontally displayed so that all the knife can be shown. Added to the smoky quartz crystal base are bronze and ruby crystals amidst the clusters following the same pattern as the natural ones so that it will give a continuity to the complete set.
