|此件海棠洗花口，斜腹，四出筋，平底露胎。胎白釉润。底心模印双摩羯，纹饰清晰，形象生动。摩羯纹又称“鱼龙纹”出现于南北朝时期。摩羯是印度神话中的河水之精，生命之本， 4世纪末传入中国。隋唐时期，摩羯融入龙首的特征。宋代瓷器上的摩羯纹有作主题纹饰出现，其造型为头上长角，长鼻上卷，鱼体鱼尾的鱼形摩羯，宋以后摩羯纹不再流行。显而易见，此件摩羯纹海棠洗，正是当时的流行产品，也是定窑当之无愧的精品。
