'Spanish coin' bottle: late 18th/19th centuryBoth well-hollowed, the first a shield form bottle, engraved to one side with a bearded sage holding a dragon staff, the reverse inscribed in clerical script with an Imperial poem related to the plum blossom composed by the Emperor Qianlong, all heightened in gilt; the second carved with the obverse and reverse of a Spanish coin with milled edges, one side bearing the head of Charles IV of Spain encircled by the legend CAROLUS•IIII•DEI•GRATIA•1798, the reverse with the Spanish coat of arms encircled with the legend HISPAN•ETIND•REX•M•8R•F•M•. 3 and 2 1/8in (7.1 and 5.3cm) high
