签名：刘岘|钤印：刘岘、东昏后人 |1974年刘岘从五七干校回到北京，继续木刻创作的同时开始中国画创作。春夏秋冬四季变幻的长城，风光无限的山水，生机盎然的花草飞禽，乃致捉鬼的钟馗，都进入他的画域。中国画主张“从于心”，有“写意”传统，其实他的中国画与版画都出于这一精神，只要是心中的感受，皆可落于纸上。他运用传统中国画的点染泼墨笔法，又借鉴西洋绘画的光影与色彩技法，使其绘画既有灿烂的色彩变化又具有形神具备的艺术效果。
