AN IVORY KRIS HILTJava, Madura, late 19th – early 20th century10 cm high Finely carved with flowers, leaves and stylised animals, wooden stand.Provenance: the collection of a Dutch noblewoman lived in Indonesia, acquired before 1975.The stylised horse is probably reminiscent of the Madurese sultan of Sumenep.
