|This statuette, modelled after the famed 'Vitesse' glass car mascot also by Lalique, was created to commemorate the inaugural Paris Gare de Lyon to Ventimiglia journey of the Côte D'Azur Pullman Express, operated by the French rail companies, Compagnie Internationale des Wagons-Lits and Compagnie des Chemins de Fer de Paris à Lyon et à la Méditerranée, and was presented to passengers of the train.See Plate 87, Car Mascots, An Enthusiasts Guide, by Giuseppe Sirignano and David Sulzberger.Exhibited at the Musée Lalique, France.
