|“湘妃竹”号称“斑竹一枝千滴泪”，既富文学传奇色彩又有特殊装饰性，是清代皇帝颇为喜爱的一种器具用材，据《造办处活计档·雍正十一年·木作》载：“传旨：里边又陈设湘妃竹波罗漆面炕案一张，此案款式甚好，着照样做几张。但湘妃竹难得，可用棕竹做。钦此。”可见雍正对湘妃竹的珍爱怜惜，且湘妃竹在当时即已十分稀缺。此件博古架精选湘妃竹攒斗而成，文雅精美。
