Two pairs of Arapaho beaded moccasins. One pair is sinew sewn on antelope hide and has beadwork with linear block patterns, circa 1870. The other pair has rawhide soles, cloth-trimmed uppers, and green and red stripes with rainbow beading, circa late 19th c.Provenance: Antelope hide pair is former Mark Francis Collection.Literature: The Mark Francis Collection of American Indian Art: A Photo Journal, #27 Condition Good condition with no bead loss; some wear on hide and fabric consistent with age.
