TLS signed “F. D. Roosevelt,” one page, 8 x 10.5, Department of the Navy letterhead, May 5, 1913. Letter to Arthur C. Moses, president of the Washington Playground Association, in full: "The Department is in receipt of your communication of April 30th, requesting that a section of the Marine Band be detailed to furnish music at the ball game to be played by the Democratic and Republican Congressmen at the American League Baseball Park on Saturday, May 17th. Upon looking into the matter I find that, in accordance with the directions of the President, the Marine Band will be required to play its regular concert in Potomac Park between 5:00 and 6:30 p.m., on May 17th. I regret, therefore, that it will be impracticable to divert a section of the Band to furnish music at the ball game to be played on that date." In very good to fine condition, with scattered light creasing and a small stain.
