Book condition: VG/VG-, with small edge tears and one large area of paper loss to the dust jacket, and an "L. M. Kauffman" bookplate affixed to the front pastedown. The Curious Republic of Gondour is a collection of sketches, most of which were taken from a series that Mark Twain wrote for The Galaxy from May 1870 to April 1871; the rest appeared in The Buffalo Express.
