Ca. 19th century Khmer style Ardhaparyanka Shiva. A multi-armed Shiva in an exaggerated âdancingâ ardhaparyanka pose characteristic of numerous Tantric deities, such as Hevajra. This suggests that the deity had a Tantric aspect for the Khmer, especially during the Angkor Vat period. The sculpture is mounted on a wood base.A very unusual pose for Shiva but a lovely piece with beautiful detail and patina. This traditional in appearance piece is sure to bring serentity to your home, office or sacred place. As the destroyer, Shiva is regarded as limitless, transcendent and unchanging. Shiva is also regarded as the patron god of yoga, meditation and arts. Please contact us for high resolution images of the piece. Provenance: Private UK collection Medium: BronzeDimensions: 52cm /21"General Condition: Good condition. Consistent with age.SCBR1829
